Car rides and reunions

We took a trip this weekend back to Pittsburgh to see lots and lots of family. We started off the weekend visiting with Great Grandma Sember. Evan loves his Great Grandma - he even tried to show her some of his new tricks he's working on.

We also got to see my Dad's side of the family at the annual Delfine Family Reunion. This is a big family and we always have a good time when we go. We got to visit with so many relatives that we haven't seen in a very long time!
It was a great weekend!

6 month update

Evan had his 6 month check up yesterday and while I'm not really surprised at his growth, it still amazes me what a big boy he is! He weighed in at 18 lbs 15 oz! And he is 28 inches long. Needless to say, he's not going to be in his infant car seat much longer!

Happy Birthday......

...America! Happy 4th of July! Yes, it was my birthday too over the weekend, but I'm not as excited to celebrate that. I decided a few years ago that I am not having "birthdays" but rather "anniversarys". Each year I have an anniversary of my 25th birthday. I don't know why 25 was such a good number to choose but that's what I went with. So this was my 5th anniversary. According to traditional anniversary gifts, the 5th year gift is wood. However the modern gift is silverware. I like this idea better and I think I could buy myself some silver earrings that I can wear! Like that?! This fuels my shopping need that has been driving me crazy lately (probably because I can't shop that I want to).

Kyle and I celebrated my "milestone" anniversary - with a very nice dinner at The Oceanaire (thanks to my brother Frank for giving us an awesome dinner and thanks to Jennifer for the cupcakes and babysitting!!). The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing at home, enjoying a day off work and seeing friends and family. The weekends always seem to go by too fast now!

Evan hit the 6 month mark over the weekend also. It's so exciting to see him growing and developing. He's in the beginning stages of crawling, which is too cute to watch. He also cut his first teeth over the weekend too - which isn't fun for any of us! I feel bad for the little guy - it can't feel good! However, he's eating solid foods now and so far we haven't found a food he won't eat. He's going to be our little eating machine!

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!!
